The Pizzoferrato Law Firm deals mainly with Labour and Corporate Law in its many applications: employee management, employee relationship management information systems, budget rendering and human resource costs, company administration, governing bodies reports, insolvency proceedings, company changes, industrial exclusive rights, trade union relations, business contracts, social security and accidents at work, complementary funds.
Our professional activity covers both private and public sectors. We also deal with contracts, working relations that are both subject to private law and regulated by public law, administrative and accounting responsibility.

In labour and business matters, we offer services of administrative and judiciary legal aid, continuous or occasional on a case-by-case basis legal advice. Also, our clients may want to take advantage of our specialized regulatory and custom update training, dealing both with National, European and International Law.
Our Law Firm has acquired a wide and solid experience in arbitration matters, since it has been part of many arbitration Boards, even administered, dealing mostly with Company Law (i.e. liability, shares, organization, commercial contracts). The Pizzoferrato Law Firm is located in Bologna (Italy) and offers its services all over the Country, in Brussels and in the main European Countries, through partnership with local firms.

Alberto Pizzoferrato

Full Professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the School of Law, University of Bologna.

He is Vice-President of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law (ISLSSL). Since 2004 he has been Scientific Director of Labour Law Master degree at the University of Bologna.
He is author of more than 140 scientific publications (monographies, essays, comments), besides many other educational publications in journals and newspapers; he is part of scientific boards, as referee or editor, of main legal journals (Argomenti di diritto del lavoro, Rivista italiana di diritto del lavoro, Il Lavoro nelle Pubbliche amministrazioni, Il Diritto del Mercato del lavoro).
Many public and private institutions benefit from his teaching activities. He has delivered speeches at about 200 national and international conferences in the last decade. In particular, he has been invited as speaker for Italy at the XI European Congress of International Society for Labour and Social Security Law, held in Dublin (IE) on September 2014; he has been the speaker at the Italian Congress of the Labour and Social Security Law Italian Association, held in Foggia on May 2015.
Since 1994 he has been a Member of the Bologna Bar Association; since 2001 he has been admitted to practice before Upper Jurisdictions. He has been appointed as President or Member of several arbitration panels in labour and commercial disputes.

Marika Malizia

Born in San Benedetto del Tronto in 1984, she graduated at the University of Bologna in 2008 with the grade of 110/110 with honors, with a thesis entitled “Public Administration online contracts”.
In March 2012, she obtained the title of Doctor of Research in Economy and Industrial Relations Law: Labour Law branch. In 2012, she worked as temporary research fellow in Labour Law at the University of Bologna with a dedicated project entitled “Temporary work in normative and legal community elaboration”.
Since 2009 she has been a member of the exam Committee for the Labour Law course at the School of Economics, University of Bologna. From 2008 to 2013 she also served as academic Tutor for the Labour Law Master degree.
Her knowledge of European Law was furthered through times of study and research abroad: at the Université de Bourgogne in 2005 and at the University of Cambridge in 2010.
She authored several scientific publications in national Labour Law journals, and also a monography entitled “Fixed term contract in private and public labour. Structures and tendencies towards a new flexibility, socially and economically sustainable”.
She successfully passed the bar examination in 2013 and, since March 10, 2014, she has been registered within the Bologna Law Bar Association and practiced law in the area of Labour and Corporate Law.
In the academic year 2017-2018 she is Adjunct Professor in Labour Law for the Business Administration degree course at the University of Bologna.

Silvia Varignana

Born in Bologna in 1981, she graduated at the Faculty of Law, University of Bologna, in October 2006, with a thesis entitled “Integrative activities of investigation and defensive investigations”. During her legal practice, she took part in the biennial Course of technique and preparation to Law test, organized by the Law Foundation of Bologna. She participated also in the quarterly cycle of training seminars organized by the Juridical Study Association – Juridical Training of Bologna. She successfully passed the bar examination in 2008 and, since March 15, 2010, she has been registered within the Bologna Law Bar Association and practiced law in the area of Labour and Civil Law.
She specialized in Labour Law by participating to the annual Labour Law University Master degree organized by the Faculty of Economics, University of Bologna, in the Academic year 2010-2011. In the last years, she furthered her training by attending updating courses and seminars on Labour Law matters.

Born in Bologna in 1969, she graduated in 1993 in Geological Science at the University of Bologna with the grade of 110/110 with honors, after she spent one year studying in the United States. Although she started working with passion in the geophysical field, she then moved away from science and pursued working experiences in the secretarial-administrative office. In time, besides several collaborations abroad, she developed multi-tasking capacities such as, for example, generic secretarial activities, accounting administration, agenda and customers handling, written and oral interpreting, teaching skills, writing and editing, conferences and events organization. In the Pizzoferrato Law Firm since March 2017, she leads the secretarial office, carrying on the various activities and duties to support the lawyers in the Firm.
